How Can I be a Better Software Tester?
When we are talking about software testing, we are referring to an unlimited universe and dimension of opportunities in the software development field. In this field sky is the limit, we can execute a lot of ideas and test their efficacy and efficiency, but how can we make our-self better as software tester professional. Here are some tips:
Always prioritize.
You first mission is to find the intruder, find the bugs in the system because these usually have a great impact on your system, it takes up more time on testing due to the level of significance to the end-users
Reports.
Clarify your story, try creating clear and concise bug reports because this will be very useful later when both, the testers and the developers will have a better understanding of the problem and will be more time efficient
Pessimism for a software tester is not always bad.
When you are testing software it’s ok to have and endorse some negative biases. Keep in mind that there is always something wrong, this negative bias can be a good motivator for your bug search
Communication is the key.
Like I said earlier it’s important to keep a good relationship with the developers by using the same interface language. This will reinforce the idea that you are a good tester and will consume less time
Don’t overdo it.
Like our brain, the system is not perfect and can never run at 100% of its capacity, still try to finish your mission, if the program has already complied the necessary requirements and you can infer that it has a high fidelity and validity
Change is always good.
Try to keep an open mind, everything changes and evolves and so should you as a professional and so should you tools, using automated test cases will allow you to adapt to the modifications that occur after the system revision
Relax and take it easy.
Sometimes the pressure from your manager and from the developers can be overwhelming because every project is due yesterday, still try to relax a minute. Software testing can be very robotic and monotonous, give yourself some time to relax, breathe and detach from you work
